From November 2023 to April 2024, I gathered friends in my apartment in Richmond, Virginia to hold a dinner party every two weeks. The original group was asked to make invitations and bring in new guests with an interest in craft. As the event grew, it changed, and each dinner became a new iteration in the series. Ella’s Sunday Night Dinner centered community, performance, food, making, and the possibilities that opened up to us when we were all gathered in one place. Dinners ranged from 8 to 25 guests, and 36 people became involved with the project. The last dinner was held at the Dogwood Dell Amphitheatre in Byrd Park in Richmond.
Every dinner was recorded using a pair of red point-and-shoot digital cameras. This extensive archive was organized into The Guestbook, A 146-page perfect bound cloth covered book.
